We have seen a 50-year-old lady with history of anxiety and hot flashes. Dr. Usha Jain examined her at our Walk-in Medical Clinic and ordered blood test to check her CBC, chemistry profile, thyroid tests and Hormones. The patient also had chest x-ray which was normal. The patient initially went to a doctor who does not believe in Hormones.

The patient was started on estrogen patch and patient improved in two weeks. The patient is  not experiencing hot flashes and  is able to sleep. It is advised to consider hormone deficiency in menopausal women. Hormone deficiency can cause variety of symptoms like depression, hot flashes, anxiety, headaches, shortness of breath etc.
