UTI-Hormone Deficiency

We saw a patient in our Urgent Care Clinic for the symptoms of burning and frequency of urination. Patient had received treatment for similar symptoms in the past. Patient described the symptoms of urinary infections. Dr. Usha Jain, our medical clinic doctor saw her and ordered urinanalysis and urine culture.

The patient was given antibiotics but also had blood test for  hormone evaluation. The patient improved but was deficient in hormones which was causing recurrent urinary infections symptoms.

The patient was placed on hormone replacement therapy and after that she didn’t have urinary infections. The patient also felt overall better.

Recurrent urinary infections can be from hormone deficiency.
